Your New Position 

Silanna is on the lookout for a self-motivated Electronics Technician to join our Applications Engineering team, to will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge products to our customers.  As the ideal candidate, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Engineers to oversee our advanced electrical lab.
  • Assemble and test Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), electronic modules, and optical systems adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform manual PCBs rework using hand tools.
  • Safely operate complex measurement systems with training provided.
  • Adhere to SOPs in performing routine performance verification, periodic instrument calibration, preventative maintenance of system or component to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Efficiently set up and dismantle measurement apparatus.
  • Maintain an orderly lab for operational efficiency and safety.

About You 

To be successful you will have a unique blend of technical expertise and personal attributes.  A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in electronics Engineering (or equivalent), coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience in the electronics field, will form the foundational qualifications for this position.  Proficiency as an electronic technician is essential, as is the willingness to apply your skills to day-to-day challenges and always seek more efficient methods.

Your quick learning abilities and problem-solving skills related to the assigned task will be an asset, allowing you to adapt and grow within the role. This will enable you to exercise your multitude of technician skills to execute routine and occasional uncommon tasks and instinctively think “are there better ways of doing this!”. 

Your proactive nature, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail will enable you to collaborate effectively with the team and contribute to the successful completion of tasks.  The ability to work both collaboratively and independently is crucial, as is the motivation to take initiative in your work.
