Equipment Engineer
Role Overview
Silanna is looking for a motivated and practical Equipment Engineer to join our Brisbane-based manufacturing and R&D facility.
Working under the general direction of the Operations Manager, Facilities & Equipment, and closely alongside our experienced Equipment and Process Engineering teams, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and supporting critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
You will play an important role in helping Silanna improve equipment reliability, manufacturing performance, and the development of innovative semiconductor technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, and scheduled maintenance activities on semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment faults in collaboration with Process, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance, reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Create, maintain, and improve equipment documentation including preventative maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures, and safety documentation.
- Assist with spare parts procurement, consumables management, and inventory control to support maintenance programs.
- Analyse equipment performance data and implement solutions to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
- Provide occasional after-hours support when equipment issues require urgent intervention.
Required Skills and Experience
You will have experience working with semiconductor, vacuum, or other advanced manufacturing equipment and hold qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience with deposition technologies such as MOCVD, CVD, or PVD will be highly regarded.
You are naturally curious, mechanically minded, and enjoy understanding how things work. When equipment breaks, you’re eager to find the root cause rather than simply treating the symptom. You enjoy working with others to solve problems but are equally comfortable taking ownership and driving issues to resolution yourself.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organisational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
Whether you are an early-career engineer looking to build specialist expertise or an experienced professional seeking your next challenge, we encourage you to apply.
Come and make a difference with us.
All candidates must currently hold valid working rights for Australia.
Support for relocation to Brisbane will be provided for the best matched candidates.
