Process Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for a like-minded entry-level and hands-on Process Engineer to join us at our R&D and manufacturing facility in Brisbane. Working under the general direction and guidance of the Epitaxy Process Manager, you as the Process Engineer will play a critical role in the Engineering Department and will be primarily focused on developing, optimising and sustaining epitaxial growth processes for compound semiconductor R&D and manufacturing. This is a highly collaborative (and hands-on) role with other key specialist engineers, where you will work on projects focused on research, development, and industrialization of new compound semiconductor products.
Successful candidates will be provided with an in-house developed four months training program that is focused on hands-on epitaxy operation and epitaxy theoretical knowledge. To ensure your ongoing development success as a specialist in this area, continuous on-the-job training will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily operation of epitaxy systems including loading/unloading of wafers, recipe setup, process monitoring, and maintaining all relevant documentation.
- Planning and scheduling epitaxy processes to maximize the throughput of epitaxy systems.
- Collaborating with equipment and facility teams to solve and troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with various maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Developing new epitaxial recipes (based on the C/C++ language) for the implementation of new epitaxial processes or device structures in-line with compound semiconductor R&D and manufacturing strategy and roadmaps.
- Creating standard operating procedures and related technical documents.
Required Skills and Experience
You will be degree qualified in any engineering or science discipline, ideally with exposure to semiconductor processing technology such as thin film deposition (at least one year’s hands-on experience will be highly regarded). Amongst your many personable attributes, you will be a proactive, analytical and mechanically minded individual contributor, with a keen eye for detail who thrives on solving technically challenging problems. You are practical, mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with others as well as independently. Excellent time management, organisational, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills are essential. You will enjoy the opportunity to continually learn and deepen your understanding of this highly technical and innovative area.
If you are about to graduate, have graduated or are a seasoned professional looking to transfer your experience and capabilities, and are willing to invest your time and effort required to become a specialist in this niche and innovative field, then please apply by outlining how your experiences, skills and personal attributes will enable you to be successful in this role.
Come and make a difference with us.
All candidates must currently hold valid working rights for Australia.
Support for relocation to Brisbane will be provided for the best matched candidates.
