Product and Test Engineer

Silanna is looking for a Product & Test Engineer to join our UV Product & Test team in Brisbane.
This role focuses on the characterisation, testing and continuous improvement of UV LED products. Working closely with engineering, technology and manufacturing teams, you will contribute to product development, test automation, data analysis and manufacturing support activities.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys working with advanced test equipment, analysing data, developing automated solutions and solving technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

• Operate advanced optical and electrical test equipment to support product characterisation and performance testing.
• Perform detailed analysis of test and production data to identify trends, correlations and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and improve test software, automation tools and user interfaces for optical and electrical measurements.
• Apply statistical analysis, process control techniques and experimental methodologies to improve product quality and reliability.
• Support calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment and instrumentation.
• Investigate product and test-related issues and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
• Create and maintain test procedures, technical documentation and reports.
• Support new product introduction activities and manufacturing release processes.
• Work closely with engineering, technology and operations teams to deliver product quality, performance and reliability objectives.

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Experience working with optical, electrical, scientific or semiconductor test equipment.
• Experience with data analysis and scripting tools such as Python or similar.
• Experience developing or supporting automated test systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning.

• Semiconductor, electronics or manufacturing environments.
• LabVIEW development and test automation.
• Optical and electrical measurement systems and instrumentation.
• Statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), process control or yield analysis.
• Product characterisation, reliability testing or validation activities.
• Production test systems and manufacturing support.
• Working with large datasets and automated reporting tools.
